  • Thank you for your continued efforts to maintain and improve this magnificent software.
I’m glad that you still found the time to program and prepare a release.

    Much appreciated.

  • Hi, I’ve tried a couple of times to download the windows version, but my navigator blocked it with an alert of detected virus.
    Any advice?

  • I LOVE this project/product! I’ve been using it for about a year instead of Scrivner. I’d like to send you a reoccurring donation to support your work and show appreciation for this awesome project. What’s the best way to do that? Thanks again! — Eric Heflin, Founding CTO, eHealth Exchange

    • We currently don’t have a centralized way to financially support the distributed development between many contributors. So you would probably need to check on Github which contributors are actively working on current issues or features and which of them list any way to support them directly.

In the footer of this page you will also find a link to donate to Olivier via Paypal which originally started the project and is still hosting this website.

      I hope this helps.

      • I’m sending a small monthly donation to Oliver. Happy to also support others if you come up with a way to donate. Love this project! I’ve recommended it to many others who also love it.

  • When I use Manuskript it work perfectly as long as my file is small, but when it grow up the tool became very slow, is it a bug?

    • In the settings you should be able to find a dropdown for themes. You might need to install a dark theme for selection in case there isn’t one by default. Manuskript is using Qt5 for its GUI in case you are looking up themes by properties and toolkit support.

  • Manuskript crashes multiple times everytime i would have to work with it. After i updated to 0.17 via Terminal and started it out of the same prozess, it crashed when i wanted to click on a word in a line (text was edited way before). Whilst being in a terminal it stated: Segmentation Fault (Memory Dump written). In German: Speicherzugriffsfehler (Speicherabzug geschrieben). Manuskript crashes, when i choose different window-layouts. it doesen’t maintain layouts even. BTW :: here it seems all of a very good intention creating a somewhat clone of ‘scrivener’ and i like how manuskript looks, how it’s meant to be working and i’m very eager see manuskript get to version 1.0 one day. Keep up, Oliver!

    • It’s most likely that Manuskript is crashing because of a custom theme, you might be using (can’t say for certain of course). It shouldn’t crash with a segfault anymore once you switch back to the default theme.

If that does not help at all (for example in case you are already using the default theme), please open an issue for the crash with as much details as possible, so that we can fix it in a next release.

  • I just installed it, seems great so far, except that it keeps crashing on attempt to import and/or delete some imported chapters. Is that a known issue or am I doing something wrong? Maybe the text is too long? Anyway, thanks.

    • The software should not crash accidentally by user input, especially when a project is open and changes might not be saved yet. So that sounds like a bug. Please open an issue to report it with as much detail as possible, so we can fix that for upcoming releases.

  • I just wanted to say thank you. I really like the software and have already completed a project with it.
It is exactly what I was looking for and I’m so happy to see that the project is still alive!

  • Does anyone know how to increase the font size in the Character, Plot, or World sections?
I can adjust the font in the editor, but it doesn’t seem to affect these sections.

  • It now takes me over 2 minutes to load Manuskript version 0.17.0. This is all because of the languagetool that loads every time Manuskript is launched. Is there any way to fix this? Thank you.

  • Thank you, I absolutely love this! I recently switched to Linux, and yWriter had to go. Manuskript has some features I was missing! 🙂
