After a few months of coding on my own, I decided to release Manuskript. It’s still very much a work in progress, yet it can already be used.
I believe it may help fill the void for open-source tool for writers. As will be evident, it is heavily inspired by Scrivener (though I never ran a version of Scrivener, only saw some screen-shots and screen-casts), but not only. Among other things, Manuskript may help you take advantage of the Snowflake method, develop plots using well-known screenplay models, create references and quickly find informations about specific place or character, etc.
Please have a try, and let me know what you think of it !
Hi
I am a scrivener user. I would like to test your product
Are you going to release a windows version?
Thanks for all your efforts,
Juan
Hi Juan,
Thanks for your interest.
Right now, Manuskript is supposed to run on windows (it’s cross-platform), but I’ve never tested it.
I don’t know how to package a PyQt app for windows. It’s more complicated than I hoped for 🙂 So there’s no easy way to test it, but it is possible: you need to install Python 3, Qt & PyQt, then download the sources and run them from the console.
If you do, please let me know what you experience !
